Everything about Metrico+ feels solid to me: the gameplay, the difficulty, the mechanics, the sound, the music, and the length of a playthrough.With most puzzle games, I tend to hit a wall multiple times, as I have a very poor sense in logic. In this game, that only happened once because that required shooting an enemy offscreen that could have easily been prevented with a better camera view. That's the one issue I had with Metrico+. The challenges were otherwise just a few steps away from thinking/experimenting. Any time I struggled, I would step away for 13-or-so minutes and usually figure out the solution quickly.The sound design here is incredible. No other music could have suited Metrico+ better, as the tastefully sparse soundtrack mirrors the postminimalist landscapes. The last world utilized a track that, when combined with the spinning enemies, was quite a cute combination. I was also endeared by the respawning sound effects, to the point where I would purposely fail to listen to them tickle my brain.One of my favourite aspects of Metrico+ is how innocent it is. Although it contains "dying", shooting enemies, and even the use of "suicide" to progress, it's still a game you can show humans of all ages without any issues (okay, maybe being squished will always feel scary). I love that Digital Dreams avoids the default route of violence, and pushes this game into playful territory.Although I had an excellent time playing through, I also regret that I can't do it again with a fresh mind. Being that I felt it's the perfect length, I just need to come to terms with the fact that it's over.. This game is simply not worth a buy. There is no story, only the overarching theme of graphs and tables, which really don't merge with the gameplay in any meaningful way. The game mechanics change with each puzzle, but nothing interesting or exciting is ever introduced. I was left guessing at the new mechanics rather than solving a puzzle. The art style is very clean, but it's nothing new and really comes across as quite bland, just like the rest of the game. The game feels like a mobile game, better fit as a 99 cent installment on the app store. The game is also way too short for the price tag. If you're really hellbent on picking this up, I'd wait for a steep sale.. The puzzle's are pretty cool in this game! They always feel fresh, and unique. There is no tutorial, it relies on your intuition to figure everything out, and at least for me, the game spoke to my intuition intimately!Was definitely worth the Humble Bundle price I paid.. Visuals look nice and the music fits the mood as well and even though the gameplay works, it is not interesting. There is no story, no objective - so the only motivation to go on are the both not difficult and repetetive "puzzles". Sorry, but I don't think it is worth your 14 bucks and your time.But again, it is very well made, there is just no reason for me to stay playing because it isn't really entertaining. I hope that the devs stick to their know-how and create another game with similair looks and overall quality, just make it interesting next time.. Wouldn't call it super unique or revolutionary, but it's a cute puzzle platformer that doesn't outstay its welcome.. Mind♥♥♥♥. Some really fresh puzzle ideas with an unique look and sound.
